Approach to Cardiothoracic and Vascular Cases
Objectives
Evaluate patients presenting with common cardiothoracic and vascular conditions, including aortic aneurysms, aortic dissection, peripheral arterial disease, carotid artery disease, venous thromboembolism, and thoracic trauma, using a systematic clinical approach. Select and interpret appropriate diagnostic investigations, including CT angiography, chest imaging, and Doppler ultrasonography, to support timely diagnosis and management. Initiate appropriate stabilization and medical management, recognize indications for urgent surgical intervention, and facilitate timely referral to cardiothoracic and vascular surgery services.
