Description
The training focused on Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS), a multidisciplinary, evidence-based approach designed to improve surgical outcomes in children and neonates. ERAS aims to optimize patient care throughout the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases to enhance recovery, reduce complications, shorten hospital stays, improve patient and family satisfaction, and lower healthcare costs.
Objectives
ERAS is a patient-centered, multidisciplinary care pathway that emphasizes optimal preparation, standardized perioperative management, effective pain control, early feeding, early mobilization, and family involvement to achieve faster recovery and better outcomes for pediatric and neonatal surgical patients.
