Description

This training focused on Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) practices within the renal unit, emphasizing the prevention of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) among dialysis patients and healthcare workers. The session covered the chain of infection, standard and transmission-based precautions, hand hygiene, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), injection safety, environmental cleaning and disinfection, waste management, vascular access care, catheter care, patient screening, staff vaccination, and strategies for preventing dialysis-related infections. The training highlighted the importance of maintaining a safe dialysis environment through adherence to evidence-based IPC protocols.
