Description

Poor perinatal outcomes associated with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) include death, cerebral palsy, intellectual disability, epilepsy, learning difficulties, and other neurological and multi-organ system complications. Early indicators of poor outcomes include low Apgar scores, severely low Apgar scores, a low pH in the umbilical cord.
