A grand round bringing together various consultants, residents, medical officers, pharmacists, medical officer interns, nurses and laboratory technicians to discuss a case presentation and a subsequent discussion on AKI in a patient with Multiple Myeloma

Objectives

1. To define Acute Kidney Injury and Multiple Myeloma and to describe the various diagnostic and staging criteria for each condition. 2. To understand pathophysiology, diagnosis and management of acute kidney injury in patients with Multiple Myeloma. 3. To enhance knowledge on risk factors of AKI in patients with Multiple Myeloma 4. To emphasize strategies for prevention of AKI in patients with Multiple Myeloma. 5. To equip participants with knowledge on clinical suspicion, early diagnosis and management principles of multiple myeloma and its systemic complications. 6. To enhance quality improvement in the care of patients with Multiple Myeloma
