This module provides an in-depth understanding of opportunistic infections and malignancies commonly associated with advanced HIV disease, beyond tuberculosis.

Objectives

Describe the epidemiology and pathogenesis of common opportunistic infections and malignancies in advanced HIV disease, including PCP, Toxoplasmosis, Kaposi’s Sarcoma, CMV, and bacterial sepsis. Recognize the clinical manifestations and risk factors associated with each of these conditions in people living with advanced HIV.
