Description

Demonstrate proper aseptic technique — including surgical hand scrubbing, gowning, and gloving to maintain a sterile operative field. Perform basic surgical knot tying — mastering one-handed, two-handed, and instrument ties with consistency and accuracy. Execute basic suturing techniques — including simple interrupted, continuous, mattress (vertical/horizontal), and subcuticular sutures on simulated tissue. Handle surgical instruments correctly — identifying common instruments, their functions, and using them safely and effectively. Apply safe tissue handling principles — minimizing trauma while performing incision, dissection, and wound closure on models or animal tissue.
