Description

The FAST Approach (Find cases Actively, Separate safely, and Treat effectively) is a rapid, infection control-focused strategy developed to prevent the spread of tuberculosis (TB) within healthcare facilities, especially among high-risk and vulnerable populations. This training is designed to build the capacity of healthcare workers to identify and manage TB cases early, reduce nosocomial (facility-based) transmission, and improve TB treatment outcomes through timely interventions.

Objectives

To enhance early detection of TB among patients and healthcare workers To reduce facility-based TB transmission through effective triage and separation To promote immediate and appropriate TB treatment and follow-up To integrate the FAST approach into routine TB infection prevention and control (IPC)
